DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, October 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Gameloft today announced the release of Real Football 2009, the latest
edition of the highly successful football franchise, on Nokia N-Gage. The
announcement, made at the Dubai World Game Expo, where N-Gage is platinum
sponsor, further cements the growing relationship between the two companies.
The Real Football series has been the best rated mobile football
simulation game for the past five years. The 2009 edition allows players to
choose from 12 stadiums and six leagues featuring 200 teams, as well as five
gaming modes ranging from the Leagues and Cups, to exhibition, penalty kicks
and training. The game also features a dynamic replay system to give players
control how they view the action. New to Real Football '09 is realistic
player behaviour and a 360degrees gaming experience utilising high-quality 3D
graphics and realistic sound effects.
Gameloft has secured the FIFpro licence to include real player names in
the title and the official licence of the Spanish Liga. The game also bridges
the gap between 'football gaming' and 'football reality' with Cesc Fabregas -
who played an integral part in helping Spain win the 2008 UEFA European
Championship - as the cover athlete of the title.
"We are delighted to be announcing the release of Real Football 2009 on
N-Gage at this year's Dubai World Game Expo. With 360degrees player
maneuverability this title brings an innovative approach to mobile football
games we know the N-Gage community will find extremely entertaining," stated
Ludovic Blondel, OEM Director at Gameloft. "Most of all we are really excited
to see the fusion of the established Real Football and N-Gage communities
that this title will create for the first time."
Gregory Horoupian, Nokia Games Business Manager for Middle East & Africa
noted, "Given the popularity of the football genre throughout the gamespace
in MEA, and the huge interest we've seen in N-Gage throughout our 69
countries, the unique gaming experience that Real Football 09 can provide on
the N-Gage platform will easily transcend the various languages and cultures
throughout our region and deliver yet another great, connected mobile gaming
experience from Dubai to Johannesburg to Casablanca."
Gregg Sauter, Director of Third Party Publishing, Nokia commented: "It's
great to see Real Football 09 launched on the N-Gage platform. As a sport,
football is the world's most popular, and as a game, Real Football will be
tough to beat. With great gameplay and superb quality graphics, we expect
this game to bring a new level of sports excellence and realism to the
platform."
