Shows continued commitment to college football with extension of former star quarterback partnership
LISLE, Ill., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Armour-Eckrich Meats LLC, one of the most respected and well-known premium meat product companies in the United States, announces the extension of its spokesperson relationship with popular college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit through 2013. The 2008 college football season was Herbstreit's first as the Eckrich(R) spokesperson, and the continuation of this successful partnership reinforces the company's sustained commitment to college football.

Since 1995, Herbstreit has been a college football analyst for ABC/ESPN. In 1996 he joined Chris Fowler and co-analyst Lee Corso on ESPN's popular College GameDay program. In 2006 he joined Brent Musburger for ABC's Saturday Night Prime Time telecast. Herbstreit also annually co-hosts ESPN's broadcast of the Heisman Trophy ceremony recognizing college football's top player. A 1993 graduate of the Ohio State University, Herbstreit is a former Buckeye quarterback and was the team captain for the 1992 season.
