Alliant Energy Announces Executive Appointments

Company aligns to continue focus on strategy execution

MADISON, Wis., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alliant Energy Corporation (NYSE: LNT) today announced changes in the positions of certain executives. The company is making organizational changes to further focus on strategy execution.

Eliot Protsch will be promoted to the role of Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Protsch will assume responsibility for all Alliant Energy utility operations; he was formerly the Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He will report to William D. Harvey, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of the Alliant Energy, who will continue in his current position.

Barbara Swan will expand her current duties in the role of Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer. In this role she will be responsible for overseeing all administrative support functions. She will continue to hold the position of President of Wisconsin Power and Light Company. Swan will also continue to report to Harvey.

Patricia Kampling will be promoted to the position of Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. She was formerly Vice President and Treasurer. Kampling will report to Harvey.

Thomas Aller will be appointed to the new position of Senior Vice President -- Energy Resource Development. Aller will oversee new construction, renewable resources and Alliant Energy Transportation. He was formerly the Senior Vice President -- Energy Delivery. He will continue to hold the position of President of Interstate Power and Light Company. Aller will report to Protsch.

Dundeana K. Doyle will be promoted to the position of Senior Vice President -- Energy Delivery. She will oversee all Energy Delivery operations. Doyle was formerly the Vice President -- Strategy and Regulatory Affairs. Doyle will report to Protsch.

Protsch and Aller are headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Swan, Kampling and Doyle are headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin.
