Clean Tech Open and California Public Utilities Commission to Host 2008 Green Building Symposium
Industry, government and academic experts to discuss future of 'greening' U.S. infrastructure
SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The Clean Tech Open and the
California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will host the second annual
Green Building Symposium in San Francisco on December 9th. Featuring a panel
discussion with thought leaders from federal and state government, research
and academia, venture capital and the green building industry, the event will
focus on the most pressing energy challenges facing the building industry.
Challenges to be discussed include the fact that U.S. buildings produce 48
percent of domestic carbon emissions, as well as the growing national
commercial energy bill which is currently at $120 billion a year.
The Symposium will be held at the CPUC's San Francisco headquarters, and
is sponsored by the five national labs in the National Laboratory
Collaborative of Building Technologies: Argonne National Laboratory in
Illinois, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California, National
Renewable Energy Laboratory in Colorado, Oak Ridge National Laboratory in
Tennessee, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Washington State.
