ACS' Lora Villarreal Named HR Professional of the Year
DALLAS, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lora Villarreal, Ph.D.,
executive vice president and chief people officer of Affiliated Computer
Services, Inc., has been named Ogletree Deakins Human Resources Professional
of the Year for 2008. Co-sponsored with the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce,
the award honors and recognizes HR professionals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area
who have made significant contributions to their organization over the past
year.

Since joining ACS in 1998, Dr. Villarreal has overseen the HR functions of
staffing, employee relations, benefits administration, policy development and
deployment, EEO training and development, safety, and payroll. She leads a
worldwide staff in the development and implementation of several beneficial
and key initiatives for ACS. These include focusing on recruiting and
developing women in non-traditional roles, developing a salary administration
program with a pay-for-performance concept, and starting a corporate training
center focusing on effective interpersonal and management skills.
