ACS Signs $44 Million Contract with State of Florida
DALLAS, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Affiliated Computer Services,
Inc. (NYSE: ACS) today announced it has signed a new five-year, $44 million
contract with Florida's Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) to
administer a Third Party Liability program for Florida Medicaid. With many
state governments facing severe budget crises, ACS' Third Party Liability
(TPL) solutions deliver potential cost savings.
As part of the new contract with Florida, ACS will deploy its
industry-leading business process and Web-based technologies in pursuit of
Third Party recovery sources such as commercial health insurance plans,
Medicare, Casualty, Estate, Trust and Annuity plans which provide
opportunities to save money by assisting state Medicaid programs in
proactively identifying alternate insurance sources prior to Medicaid claims
payment.
"The AHCA sought our services because they know and trust ACS and our
management team. Additionally, we offered creative solutions that have been
extremely successful in the commercial market, and thereby could provide
tremendous savings opportunities for the Florida Medicaid program," said
Christopher Deelsnyder, senior vice president and managing director, ACS
Government Healthcare Solutions.
"Our extensive TPL product offering will revolutionize the government
healthcare market by allowing Medicaid programs to proactively identify
alternate insurance sources. These services are especially important in
today's current environment where most states are facing major budget
challenges," Deelsnyder said.
ACS' previous and current contracts with ACHA over the past 10 years
include Medicaid Fiscal Agent services, Pharmacy Benefit Management,
Enrollment Broker services, Choice Counseling services, Medication Therapy
