Celebrity Fashion Website StyleSpot.com Launches

Site Emerges from Beta with New Style Features and Up-to-the Minute Fashion Coverage

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Just in time for the upcoming fashion season, StyleSpot.com emerged from Beta today with the official unveiling of its sleek new Web design, which includes more editorial fashion features and up-to-the minute fashion news. The fashion and celebrity-focused website provides a comprehensive photo gallery of all the latest celebrity events and sightings along with a detailed shopping guide to acquiring their styles at various price points. StyleSpot is a resource for fashion influencers who want to know the season's up and coming trends as well as the ultimate shopping guide for fans to mimic their favorite stars' causal or red carpet style.

StyleSpot was created by online entrepreneurs, Alex Amin and Rafi Gordon, who recognized that today's fashion icons were no longer supermodels but rather A-list celebrities walking red carpets, photographed on set or running to dinner. Working with celebrity publicists and stylists, StyleSpot is constantly updated with images and exact details on what the stars are wearing, accompanied by multiple similar style options that fit every budget.

"Though there are many fashion sites, thousands of celebrity sites, and many shopping sites, none have mastered combining fashion and celebrity content with e-commerce," said Alex Amin, co-founder of StyleSpot. "StyleSpot provides an innovative interface for fashion and celebrity consumers to quickly identify, find, and buy the latest fashion trends and celebrity styles."

Before StyleSpot, Amin and Gordon established themselves as internet entrepreneurs when they founded the entertainment industry database Baseline StudioSystems. StyleSpot editorial director, Lily Hollander, has worked with some of the biggest names in fashion for events and award shows in Hollywood, and is a recognized style expert.

StyleSpot launched a beta version of the site to a limited audience in July 2009. The current launch incorporates a new interface and a host of new features including: Lily's Celebrity of the Week, which highlights one celebrity and her fashion looks, On the Town that showcases different events and StyleSpot Obsessions that details a brand, product or accessory that has garnered buzz. In addition to its real-time, comprehensive coverage of the Emmys red-carpet fashions, for this past weekend's Emmy Awards, the site created StyleSpot's TV All Star which honored the 20 Best dresses TV celebrities.

About StyleSpot:

StyleSpot is a website that focuses on the fashion and celebrity world. The site serves as a resource for fashion influencers as well as for consumers who want to find the fashions and styles worn by their favorite celebrities. At its core, StyleSpot is a database of celebrity photo galleries mapped to a shopping engine where all products can be purchased online. StyleSpot also syndicates all of its photos, editorial and ecommerce links to other web publishers. StyleSpot was developed by Alex Amin and Rafi Gordon who built their first online venture FilmTracker, into the leading entertainment industry database and portal. Under their leadership, FilmTracker successfully grew, ultimately acquiring The Studio System and merging with Baseline, the world's preeminent provider of film and TV data. Baseline was later sold to The New York Times in 2006 for $35 million.
