SOURCECORP believes the San Jose facility is the only records center in Northern California that meets NARA's 36 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1228, subpart K. The stringent CFR requirements apply to all Federal Records: books, papers, maps, photographs, or other documents made or received by an agency of the United States Government under Federal law or in connection with the transaction of public business. To meet these needs, the SOURCECORP center is equipped to store hardcopy documents as well as provide imaging services. "Being responsive to the records management needs of the Federal government and other highly regulated entities has been our focus for the 36+ years we've served businesses in Northern California," said Liz Allan, Director of Client Programs for SOURCECORP Deliverex. "We operate in an environment dedicated to regulatory compliance, so meeting the new CFR standards for service and security was just part of our on-going continuous improvement initiatives." "SOURCECORP is very pleased to bring this unique new capability to market to support our government clients," added Ed Bowman, President and CEO of SOURCECORP. "We wanted to be sure our clients were able to comply with the new regulations so we made the investments necessary to have a state of the art facility. We are fully operational with capacity to support additional clients." NARA's rigorous security and record protection requirements apply to all government agencies and vendors. According to subpart 1228.156(a), agencies are required to ensure that records in their legal custody are stored in appropriate space as outlined in the Code. If current storage does not meet the updated standards, agencies are responsible for transferring the records to storage that is NARA-compliant. "Agencies wanting to transfer records to a commercial records storage facility must guarantee that the facility meets all of the requirements of the subpart of the Code," continued Ms. Allan. "We can supply them with the documentation required by NARA prior to transfer and help ensure the success of their records management protocol."
