ANN ARBOR, Mich., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Borders(R) is giving teachers yet another reason to spend an evening networking and having fun at the "Teacher Town Hall Meeting" in Borders superstores Sept. 29 - the opportunity to help score a $400 Borders gift card for their schools. During the event, and for one evening only, teachers can show their school spirit by entering Borders' "Stock Your Library Challenge" sweepstakes for a chance for their school to win one of ten (10) $400 Borders gift cards. Teachers from the same school can gather together at one Borders store to enter the sweepstakes and enjoy the evening's festivities, or if more convenient, they can visit any Borders store in their area individually, enter the sweepstakes and still have their entry counted for their school. The schools with the largest number of teacher entries in the sweepstakes will be entered into a drawing for the gift cards. The drawing will take place Oct. 9 and winning schools will be notified Oct. 12.

The Teacher Town Hall Meeting marks the official start of Borders' Educator Appreciation Week (EAW), Sept. 29 through Oct. 7. The evening's activities will provide teachers with ample opportunities to network with other educators, enjoy free giveaways and talk with others about their inspirations, challenges and passions all within a warm and invigorating "town hall" atmosphere.

During the event - and throughout EAW - educators will enjoy 30% off the list price of nearly everything in store including books, teaching resources and materials, music, movies, educational toys and games, gifts and stationery and even Seattle's Best Coffee cafe products. To take advantage of the 30% discount, educators need only present proof of educator status, which can be a paystub or an identification card with a current date. (Homeschoolers must present their homeschool certification.) Educators can enjoy the 30% discount in all Borders as well as Waldenbooks stores nationwide throughout EAW.

Later in the week, educators will enjoy the premiere event of EAW - the "Wild Rumpus Teacher Celebration" - slated for Friday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. in virtually all Borders stores and select Waldenbooks locations nationwide. Themed after the book and upcoming feature film "Where the Wild Things Are," the event will pack plenty of fun for the whole family including arts and crafts and storytelling activities for the kids as well as giveaways and raffles everyone can enjoy.
