BOSTON, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE -- Samplify Systems, Inc., a next generation mixed-signal semiconductor company, today announces an exclusive distribution agreement with Silicon Valley Tech, a world-wide solutions provider of advanced technologies, for the Korean wireless infrastructure market. Under terms of the agreement, Silicon Valley Tech gains exclusive rights to distribute Samplify's SAM1600 family of analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) with the company's Prism(TM) compression technology, to wireless OEMs in the Korean market. The two companies also are announcing their first design-win with Korean wireless manufacturer IntelRa for the development of a wireless repeater module for the Korean and export markets.

"We saw early on the huge potential of Samplify's silicon and compression technology for our wireless customers," says Eun Chul Lee, CEO of Silicon Valley Tech. "We are excited to be able to fully promote this technology to wireless OEMs and operators in the Korean market. We expect widespread interest and adoption of the SAM1600 solution because it offers a way to extend 3G wireless technologies in an easy and cost effective manner."

"Samplify's compression technology lets us develop dual-band wireless repeaters connected with ordinary copper-twisted pair cables instead of more costly fiber optics without any degradation of signal quality," adds Yunjoung Kim, Director of Marketing for IntelRa. "This provides a significant savings in installation costs for the mobile operator."

Samplify Helps Mobile Operators Extend 3G and 3.5G Wireless Technologies

ABI Research forecasts the market for in-building wireless systems will reach $15B by 2013. Asia represents one of the fastest growing segments as mobile operators seek to expand coverage of 3G and 3.5G technologies throughout subway stations and tunnels.

Samplify's Prism signal compression technology offers a RateTrak mode that maintains compression ratios for transmission across fixed bandwidth links. RateTrak adapts to changing signal conditions while maintaining key signal-quality parameters such as error-vector-magnitude, adjacent channel leakage ratio, and peak-code domain error. Additionally, Samplify's compression helps wireless repeaters achieve latency of below 5 us, critical to meeting the specifications for all of today's wireless standards.
