Fmr National Security Adviser Backs Administration Position on Europe Missile Defense Shield
WASHINGTON, Sept. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Brent Scowcroft, Chairman of the Atlantic Council International Advisory Board and former National Security Adviser to Presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush, today supported the Administration's decision to pursue alternative technologies and architecture for the planned missile defense shield in Eastern Europe. Gen Scowcroft released the following statement through the Atlantic Council:

On October 7, the Atlantic Council will host a conference on the Next Steps for Missile Defense in Europe featuring the Honorable Ellen Tauscher, Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, and Representative Michael Turner (R-OH), Ranking Member, House Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee.
