Arcadis Wins Two Major GRiP(R) Contracts Totaling $170 Million
AMSTERDAM, September 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ARCADIS (EURONEXT:
ARCAD), the international design, consulting, engineering and management
services company, today announced that it has been awarded two major GRiP(R)
contracts for environmental remediation, with a total worth of almost $170
million, from Atlantic Richfield Company, a BP affiliate, and the US Army.
The contract with Atlantic Richfield Company involves environmental
remediation and site closure for a portfolio of contaminated sites. ARCADIS
will provide a GRiP(R) (Guaranteed Remediation Program) approach to assure
that each site in the portfolio will meet the environmental cleanup standards
set by the regulators. ARCADIS was awarded the contract after an extensive
selection process and its strong and innovative remediation capabilities and
proven success in GRiP(R) contract execution were key in winning this
contract.
In addition, the US Army Environmental Command has recently awarded
ARCADIS a GRiP(R) contract involving three projects. The largest project is
for work at Fort Meade, Maryland and the associated Phoenix Military
Installation (PMI). The work will include site investigation, evaluation of
remedial alternatives and remediation of contaminated sites.
Commenting on these major wins, Gary Coates, President of ARCADIS US
Environmental Division said: "We see a strong demand for our GRiP(R) program
as more clients, in both the public and private sectors, are looking to
obtain cleanup cost certainty and accelerated time to closure of
environmentally impacted properties. By applying GRiP(R) to portfolios of
sites additional savings can be realized. The GRiP(R) approach also enables
clients to redirect their resources to core business activities and drive
more of their environmental expenditures towards reducing their liabilities
within a fixed period of time."
