Laura Catalano Joins MWW Group, Leads Public Affairs For Washington, D.C. Office
 
Former Senior Executive at Fleishman-Hillard Brings Deep Expertise in Environmental Sustainability, Energy, Transportation, and Crisis and Issues Management

WASHINGTON, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- MWW Group (www.mww.com), one of the nation's top 10 public relations firms, announced today that Laura Catalano has joined the firm as senior vice president in its Washington, D.C., office, where she will lead the company's Washington-based public affairs practice. As a senior member of the D.C. team, Ms. Catalano brings 20 years of experience in many of the most important issues being debated in Washington and across the nation.

Before joining MWW Group, Ms. Catalano served as senior vice president and partner at Fleishman-Hillard. While at Fleishman-Hillard she was group leader of the energy and environment practice in the public affairs division. In this role, Ms. Catalano served as a public affairs and public relations counselor, providing strategic communications counsel, media relations strategy, issues and crisis management, and corporate positioning support to Fortune 500 companies, trade associations, government agencies and non-profits. Most recently she has led communications programs for the American Trucking Associations, American Chemistry Council, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, PJM Interconnection, NRG Energy, Shell Oil, CSX Transportation, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Transportation, and the U.S. Department of Energy.

Previously, Ms. Catalano worked at Ketchum Public Relations where, among numerous projects, she directed a million dollar public affairs advocacy campaign for the American Automobile Manufacturers Association to help build support for the industry's proposal to reduce global warming. In addition, Ms. Catalano worked as chief editor for Inside Washington Publishers, where she helped create and launch a weekly business newsletter exclusively covering the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA), providing readers with in-depth news and analysis of emerging state policy decisions and developments at Cal/EPA. She also served as editor for State Environmental Monitor and managing editor for New Fuels Report.
