New chapter begins as 2010 Taurus begins production, earns IIHS Top Safety Pick
The all-new 2010 Ford Taurus came off the line this week at the Chicago Assembly Plant, which has been retooled and redesigned to build the stylish, highly anticipated sedan. Part of the redesign included using specially programmed key fobs that require operators to confirm correct assembly of the vehicle parts; onboard diagnostics and tracking systems that scan the cars as they travel along the assembly line; and a seven-surface test track that ensures the units are squeak- and rattle-free before they leave the plant. more...

Pikes Peak Ford Fiesta film celebrates summit, offers homage
Peak Performance follows international rally star Marcus Gronholm, power-sliding an 800-horsepower race-prepped Ford Fiesta, carving through 156 turns to wend his way to the 14,110- foot summit that is Pikes Peak. A YouTube phenomenon with more than a quarter-million views, Peak Performance pays homage to the award-winning 1990 ascent film Climb Dance. In its maiden North American motorsports voyage, the Fiesta placed second overall, earning Gronholm Rookie of the Year honors in the Race to the Clouds. Fiesta dominates X Games by nabbing two podium spots
The Ford Fiesta is continuing to give Americans a dose of its European flavor, most recently at X Games 15, where the production-based rally cars came out champions at the event. The Fiestas showed their strength, claiming two spots on the podium, including first, and taking three of the top four overall in their debut. Kenny Brack, the 1999 Indianapolis 500 champion, led the way, capturing the X Games rally gold medal while his teammate Tanner Foust took the bronze. more...
