Council of Administrators of Special Education Renews Endorsement of Voyager Reading and Math Intervention Programs

DALLAS, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) announced today its Executive Committee has voted to again endorse three reading and math intervention programs produced and distributed by Voyager Expanded Learning((R)).( )The programs, which were the first intervention products originally chosen by CASE for endorsement, include Voyager Passport((TM)), Passport Reading Journeys((TM)) and Vmath.((R))

"We are proud of the rigorous CASE endorsement and re-endorsement process and congratulate Voyager Expanded Learning on the re-endorsement of Voyager Passport, Passport Reading Journeys and Vmath," says Dr. Luann Purcell, executive director of CASE. "All three of these programs clearly provide interventions that make a difference with student achievement."

The re-endorsement is based on the CASE Publication and Product Review Committee's rigorous evaluation of the products and research data submitted in support of the CASE Product Review Rubric, which focuses on the following critical areas:

  • Research base
  • Field testing
  • Professional development practices that support CASE/CEC policy and standards
  • Company satisfaction and reputation
  • Product marketability and feasibility
  • Evidence and documentation of customer satisfaction

"The CASE re-endorsement recognizes Voyager's evidence of effectiveness for interventions in reading and math, particularly for students with disabilities across the country," says Dr. Robert Pasternack, former U.S. assistant secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services and senior vice president of Special Education for Voyager Expanded Learning. He adds, "As local special education directors search for powerful interventions to reduce inappropriate referrals to special education and improve outcomes and results for students with disabilities, the CASE re-endorsement confirms that Voyager's powerful interventions are acknowledged to accomplish those goals. Implementing Response to Intervention requires the selection of an evidence-based intervention system, and Voyager provides what school systems, teachers, and students need."
