North Jersey Community Bank Announces Financial Results for Second Quarter 2009: Posts Most Profitable Quarter Since Inception

Community Bank Continues Expansion, Adds Seventh Branch and Launches Residential Mortgage Division; Reports Asset Growth of $51 Million, Bringing Total to $473 Million

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- North Jersey Community Bank (NJCB), the fastest growing bank in New Jersey, today announced its results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2009.

Highlights Include:

  • Total Assets grew $51 million to $473 million
  • Total Deposits grew $54 million to $396 million
  • Total Loans grew $21 million to $343 million
  • Experienced most profitable quarter since NJCB's inception

"Despite a challenging marketplace and a significant one time FDIC assessment levied on all banks, we continue to preserve capital, have no non-performing loans and experienced our most profitable quarter since our inception," said Frank Sorrentino III, chairman and CEO of North Jersey Community Bank. "As evidenced by our continued success, we have utilized today's marketplace challenges and converted them into smart, stable and strong growth."

Building upon its successful expansion into Hudson County with the opening of its West New York branch, NJCB increased its geographical footprint in Bergen County with the addition of its seventh branch, located in Ridgewood at 171 East Ridgewood Ave.

"The second quarter saw some exciting developments, including the acquisition of Citizens Community Bank in Ridgewood, now our seventh branch, and the launch of our Residential Mortgage Division," continued Sorrentino III. "At a time when most banks are leaving the residential mortgage industry, we decided to capitalize on this opportunity and jump into this space. Our decision is already paying dividends by generating new business and helping to broaden our relationship with our customers."

The new Residential Mortgage Division, headquartered in Ridgewood and run by Thomas Cosentino, features a broad range of products and services, enabling NJCB to compete effectively in this crowded marketplace.

NJCB offers a complete range of financial services for both personal and business customers, backed by advanced technology. The bank provides a full line of banking products and services, including mortgages, home equity loans and lines of credit, as well as a wide selection of commercial services. Its Simply Better Money Market Account, with one of the highest rates in the area, is available for both business and personal accounts and includes free checking and free online bill pay.
