CA EVP Chris O'Malley to Keynote at SHARE Conference for Enterprise IT Professionals

ISLANDIA, N.Y., July 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CA (Nasdaq: CA) today announced that Chris O'Malley, executive vice president and general manager of the company's Mainframe Business Unit, will deliver a keynote address at SHARE in Denver, August 23-28 at the Colorado Convention Center.

In an August 24 address entitled "State of the Mainframe: Empowering the Next Generation to Support the Mainframe's Leading Role in the Enterprise Architecture," O'Malley will discuss the resurgence of the mainframe as organizations seek greater value, reliability, compliance, and security from their IT infrastructure.

O'Malley will also discuss the challenges IT organizations face as their responsibilities continue to expand and as a new generation of IT professionals is called upon to take over the management of the mainframe from platform veterans who are approaching retirement. He will explain how new tools, interfaces, and approaches to mainframe management are addressing these challenges-and making the mainframe an even more compelling platform for the future.

O'Malley will be the first executive from an independent software vendor to give a SHARE keynote since 1999.

In addition to O'Malley's keynote, CA will participate in nearly 30 sessions during SHARE in Denver on technology and best practices for optimizing the business value of mainframe environments. Topics will include:
