Ronald McDonald(R) Kicks Off McDonald's(R) Check It Out Summer Reading Tour

Ronald McDonald Will Visit Libraries in the New York Tri-State Area Encouraging Summer Reading

ROSELAND, N.J., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- On June 19th, McDonald's New York Tri-State Area will kick off its "Check It Out" Reading Program, which celebrates children in grades K-4 for reading during the summer. Since the program was introduced in 1998, the McDonald's "Check It Out" Reading Program has successfully promoted summer reading for more than 1.5 million children in the New York Tri-State Area.

This summer, Ronald McDonald will be embarking once again on the "Ronald and Me" reading tour, visiting local libraries throughout the New York Tri-State Area and sharing his love for reading. As a result of the reading program's growing popularity, the demands for Ronald's tour visits this summer have more than doubled since last year.

"We are both excited and honored to be able to offer the 'Ronald and Me' reading tour again this summer," said Paul Hendel, president of the McDonald's New York Tri-State Area Owners/Operators Association. "Seeing that we have twice the number of libraries participating this time around, we are certain that this will be our best tour yet!"
