Waste Industries, USA, Inc. Announces North Carolina SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America) Annual Equipment and Truck ROAD-E-O Coming to Raleigh/Durham
RALEIGH, N.C., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The North Carolina Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) Annual Equipment / Truck ROAD-E-O is coming to the Raleigh/Durham area Saturday, June 13, 2009.
Over one hundred drivers, operators of heavy equipment and mechanics will be competing for statewide recognition and prizes during this event hosted in Raleigh and Durham by the North Carolina Chapter of SWANA, Waste Industries USA and Republic Services.
Participants from counties throughout North Carolina will be competing at the Waste Industries Red Rock Landfill near Holly Springs and the Republic Services trucking facility in Research Triangle Park. The public is invited to attend the competition, which begins Saturday morning, June 13, 2009 at 8:30 am and continues until approximately 4:00 pm.
Truck drivers and equipment operators are required to maneuver solid waste equipment through a preset course and mechanics are tested in areas of troubleshooting and diagnostics. All categories are judged on accuracy and time.
In addition to the competition, the two-day statewide event includes competitive games, receptions and an awards banquet. The Marriott Hotel/RTP is the host site for the ROAD-E-O.
