TAMPA, Fla., June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- This summer shoppers in Largo, Florida, will have access to convenient, high-quality groceries at the renovated Barclay Square shopping center. Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market is scheduled to open in July at the 98,000 square-foot center located in Pinellas County at the intersection of Walsingham Road and Indian Rocks Road.
The 41,000 square-foot store will offer customers a full-line of grocery items, pharmacy and general merchandise. The Neighborhood Market, which is Wal-Mart's grocery concept, will be the first for Largo and accompanies the major improvements ongoing at the center.
"The Neighborhood Market is hugely popular for the array of products they offer at great prices," commented Lyle Darnall, Edens & Avant Managing Director. "We expect a significant increase in activity at the center as we capture more of the beach and tourist traffic this anchor will draw."
Coinciding with the retailer's debut is a multi-million dollar center renovation designed to make shopping more enjoyable for area residents and highlight existing retailers. The renovation includes a completely remodeled facade, new lighting, enhanced landscaping and a resurfaced parking area. The project began in December and will be complete by mid-June.
Largo is one of the Tampa Bay area's largest cities. Located near the Intracoastal Waterway and within a mile of Indian Rocks Beach, Barclay Square also draws from Belleair, Clearwater, Seminole and Indian Shores.
"We look forward to bringing Largo customers unbeatable prices on the grocery items they want and need," said Joaquin Gonzalez Varela, Regional General Manager for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. "As we continue to build new stores in Florida, we will continue to create economic opportunity by providing good jobs that give our associates the chance to build careers," added Varela. "At the same time, we will be an advocate for our customers by finding solutions that save them money on their groceries and other products that their families need."
Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market will join over 15 local, regional and national retailers including Omega Cabinets & Granite, Tuesday Morning, Blockbuster, Fantastic Sams, Allstate, H&R Block, Edward Jones and a new Regions Bank.
