Stater Bros. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jack H. Brown, who was a member of the elite Del Rosa Hotshots firefighting crew said, "As a former firefighter, I know firsthand the devastating results of wildfires. So I was very pleased that Stater Bros. was given the opportunity to support this campaign, and I was extremely proud when I realized we were going to be able to reach our goal of planting one million new trees and building a better tomorrow for all."

Since April 8th, Stater Bros. shoppers have been making one-dollar tax-deductible donations to the "Reforest California" Campaign at the time of checkout. This portion of the fund raising program ran through April 28th and raised over $373,780. Another component of the campaign, supported through the purchase of Coca-Cola products, will continue through May 19th at all Stater Bros. Supermarkets, and donations can also be made online at www.reforestcalifornia.com.

The primary recipients of the "Reforest California" campaign will be Cuyamaca Rancho State Park near San Diego and Chino Hills State Park in San Bernardino County, two State Park areas that were heavily impacted by recent wildfires.
