Analyst Firm Marks Earth Day with New Eco-Sustainability Tracker Report
STERLING, Va., April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Current Analysis today announced the launch of its Eco-Sustainability Tracker Advisory Report series. The Advisory Reports are intended to build a timeline that tracks significant green marketing programs/initiatives. In doing so, this will establish some context through which ongoing environmental sustainability initiatives can be more consistently evaluated.
The initial Advisory Report analyzes Green Market Developments from Q4 2008 through approximately the end of Q1 2009. This report surveys the major eco-sustainability announcements made by equipment vendors and service providers, and provides some perspective by commenting on the extent to which rivals make similar claims. A few of the events that were analyzed and rated are: the announcement of Qwest joining the Climate Change Registry, Ixia opens testing facility using IxiaGreen program, Alcatel-Lucent's "Sustainable Power" services, BT's Carbon Footprint assessment service in Germany, and Cisco's "EnergyWise" program.
The report also comments on more general industry activities related to environmental sustainability, such as informational webcasts, the adoption of clean fleet vehicles, and the funding of applied research aimed at improving green technology.
"Environmental sustainability has been, perhaps, the hottest topic in the telecom industry over the past year," commented Jason Marcheck, author of the report. "Our job is not only to help our customers keep tabs on the developments in this area, but also to provide some analysis that puts the news in perspective, and, hopefully add insights into the impact that these events have on the industry. This is another step to formalize these efforts in our own product offerings."
Current Analysis will be offering this report for a free download on their website, beginning on Earth Day (April 22nd) through the end of April.
