DALLAS, TX UNITED STATES

DALLAS, April 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- According to industry surveys focusing on 'green' household products usage, as many as 86 percent of consumers have expressed an interest, with 41 percent saying they are very interested in using 'green' products at home.

To help these consumers take that 'green' step at home, Kimberly-Clark Corporation announced today the nationwide availability of Scott Naturals - a family of bath tissue, towels, napkins and flushable wipes products that deliver quality, performance and environmental benefits, at a good value.

"The Scott brand has a proud heritage of responding to consumer trends by launching exciting innovations like the first bath tissue on a roll or new categories like paper towels," said Erik Seidel, Scott Brand director. "The nationwide launch of the Scott Naturals line-up continues that tradition by responding to consumer trends around usage of environmentally-friendly products."

Seidel continues by pointing out that the Scott Naturals bath tissue, towels and napkins include a sensible blend of recycled and virgin fiber to ensure the quality and performance that consumers expect from the Scott brand. The bath tissue includes 40 percent recycled fiber, towels 60 percent and napkins 80 percent. Scott Naturals flushable wipes are made with 100 percent of fibers derived from sustainable resources and natural Aloe Vera to leave consumers feeling fresh and clean.

Delivering Quality & Environmental Benefits

Scott Naturals bath tissue features 2-ply softness that consumers expect from branded bath tissue, and outperforms 100 percent recycled fiber bath tissue products. The Scott Naturals towels, with fast-absorbing ridges, soak up spills like other branded paper towels and outperform 100 percent recycled fiber paper towels products. The flushable wipes are free and clear of dye, contain no alcohol and break-up after flushing like dry bath tissue.

Additionally, Scott Naturals products offer environmental benefits that make these solutions a smart choice for consumers. Scott Naturals bath tissue and towels are available in long-lasting rolls that minimize packaging materials and shipping impacts, while providing consumers with the long-lasting value they expect from the trusted Scott brand. Scott Naturals towels offer Choose-A-Size sheets that help eliminate waste by allowing consumers to select the right amount to clean-up spills. Finally, the bath tissue and towels' outer packaging is made from 20 percent post-consumer recycled plastic, and the cardboard cores are made from 100 percent recycled fiber.

"Scott Naturals products enable consumers to turn over a new leaf and take a 'green' step at home with quality products that perform comparably to branded products and outperform 100 percent recycled fiber products," said Seidel.

Scott Naturals - It's Green Done Right!

While consumers are expressing an interest in using 'green' household products, many of them currently believe they will have to sacrifice quality and pay more for these products. The Scott Naturals products address this concern by offering solutions that deliver value along with environmental benefits.

"Consumers shouldn't have to sacrifice quality or pay more to feel good about helping the environment," said Seidel. "Scott Naturals products make it easy for consumers to take a 'green' step without sacrificing quality or paying a premium price."

To support the nationwide roll-out of these products, Scott Naturals branded products will be sponsoring a series of informative video segments that offer affordable, environmentally-focused, home improvement ideas and recycling tips, hosted by Kahi Lee, interior designer on the HGTV's Design on a Dime program. The segments can be seen on the Scott Common Sense Web site and other online video networks. In addition, the brand will sponsor the national Clean Air Green Tour, an interactive bus tour that will share 'green' living tips across 40 states, as well as offering practical household environmental ideas on the brand's Web site at www.scottcommonsense.com/naturals, and other online venues.

Beginning in mid-April, the Scott Naturals products will be available at major North American retail locations.
