ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Borders(R) and Waldenbooks(R) stores nationwide will host "Spring Fling" parties for kids and their families April 11 at 2 p.m. Children are invited to come decked out in their Easter finest -- or everyday apparel -- to enjoy arts and crafts, storytime, singing and dancing and even a parade. Parents are encouraged to snap photos of their kids enjoying all the festivities and post their adorable images on the Borders Facebook(R) page for friends and family to enjoy.
The fun-filled afternoon will find kids displaying their creative prowess as they make Easter bonnets and baskets. Then, they'll gather around to hear entertaining Easter tales, after which they'll get the adrenaline flowing when they go on a search for missing words that complete a favorite Easter story. After a festive sing-along, the event will culminate with an in-store parade where kids will be able to show off their artful creations. Activities may vary by store, but all parties will provide ample photo opportunities for parents and family members. In honor of the event, the Seattle's Best Coffee cafes--located in nearly all Borders superstores--will be offering free samples of beverages and baked goods. For the kids, samples include hot chocolate and hand-made sodas. For adults, special treats to try include a Blackberry Creme Latte, which combines espresso with mellow blackberry flavors and floral notes. Made with steamed milk and topped with a sprinkle of citrus-berry infused sugar, the drink is finished with a touch of white chocolate sauce. The Blackberry Creme Latte is also available in a creamy, cold JavaKula(R) blended beverage. Rounding out the selection of delectable delights is the OvenSong(TM) Lemon Doughnut, where each bite is filled with a sweet lemony flavor that comes from real lemon juice and zest to give it an extra zing, and the OvenSong(TM) Old Fashioned Doughnut, which has a delightful buttermilk flavor with hints of vanilla and a little nutmeg--and a glaze that gives the doughnut an extra sweet taste.
