Chrysler LLC Named to DiversityInc 2009 List of 25 Noteworthy Companies

  • List recognizes rising corporate leaders in managing diversity
  • "Noteworthy Companies" have strong potential to be named to the Top 50 list next year
  • Diversity a key factor in Chrysler's continued viability

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The editors of DiversityInc magazine named Chrysler LLC to the magazine's 2009 list of 25 noteworthy companies. This annual list is comprised of companies the magazine's editors believe "are rising diversity-management leaders and are close to earning spots on The DiversityInc Top 50 companies list and have strong potential to be named to the Top 50 list next year."

This is the fourth consecutive year Chrysler has been included on either of these two distinguished leadership lists.

Both the DiversityInc Top 50 list and the 25 Noteworthy Companies list were announced March 12 in New York City. Selections for the lists are based on empirical data submitted in The 2008 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity survey.

"We are very proud of this recognition, particularly under such challenging market conditions," said Nancy Rae, Executive Vice President -- Human Resources and Communications, Chrysler LLC. "Going forward, our diversity will continue to be a source of innovation and competitive advantage, and a key factor in our continued viability."

"Innovative companies such as Chrysler have switched from trying to move the status quo to establishing a new one," said Luke Visconti, CEO of DiversityInc. "Smart companies see increasing diversity efforts in an economic downturn as a way of beating less-adept competition that will pull back."
