Samplify Systems Continues Receiving Industry Accolades For Its Analog/Digital Converters with Compression Technology

SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Samplify Systems, Inc., a provider of mixed-signal compression solutions for intelligent data conversion, is pleased to announce that its founder and chief technology officer (CTO), Al Wegener, has been named a finalist in the EE Times annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards in the category of innovator of the year. Wegener is recognized for his work integrating Samplify's patented Prism(TM) real-time signal compression technology with the company's SAM1600 family of analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) -- an industry first. The ACE Awards is the most recent in a string of industry acknowledgements/awards that startup Samplify has received since launching its SAM1600 family in October 2008.

EE Times/TechOnline editorial director Patrick Mannion recently profiled Al Wegener and commented, "It's designers like Al that remind me why I got into engineering, why I enjoy being an editor, and why the passion and love that he and others have for pure engineering and research will keep our innovative edge alive and well." http://www.techonline.com/blog/news/archives/2009/03/its_about_passi.html?loc=

"I'm honored to be considered for this award for doing something that I love -- creating compression algorithms for high-speed, sampled-data systems that help alleviate system bottlenecks in a wide variety of applications. I'm also very fortunate to work with a great group of dedicated people who help me bring new ideas to life, to customers, and to the market!"

Now in its 5th year, the ACE Awards honors technology innovators who demonstrate global electronics industry leadership. Winners of the prestigious ACE Awards will be announced during the Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley on March 31, 2009.

About Prism Compression and the SAM1600 Family

Samplify's Prism signal-compression algorithm provides a cost-effective and power-saving alternative to brute force hardware approaches to transport and store large amounts of sampled data within systems. Samplify's SAM1600 family of ADCs deliver twice the channel density and nearly half the power of competing solutions. With these products, Samplify provides a complete, end-to-end compression solution which also includes the Samplify for FPGA and Samplify for Windows decompression engines.

About Samplify Systems

Samplify Systems, Inc. is a fabless mixed-signal semiconductor company that combines high performance analog with sophisticated digital processing to deliver a new class of intelligent data converters. Samplify provides the only real-time lossless and lossy compression solutions for high-speed sampled data systems. Delivering simply the bits that matter(R), Samplify's Prism(TM) compression technology turbo-charges the I/O subsystem of Samplify data converters, reducing bandwidth and storage bottlenecks in DSP systems without the power, area, and cost of brute-force hardware solutions. Samplify targets real-time embedded applications in medical imaging, wireless, defense, communications, and industrial markets. Samplify Systems is a privately held company based in Santa Clara, CA with over $11M in investment from Charles River Ventures and Formative Ventures.

Prism is a trademark and "simply the bits that matter" is a registered trademark of Samplify Systems.
