Rawsthorne to provide practical approaches to understanding agile processes and methods

             Rawsthorne has been developing software for more than 25 years
             and is an accomplished manager, mentor, coach, trainer,
             consultant, and architect.  The projects he has worked on range
             from e-commerce, to databases, military avionics and Air
             Traffic Control.  He is a Certified Scrum Trainer for Danube
             Technologies, the leader in software and training for the Scrum
             method of agile software development.  Rawsthorne holds a PhD in
             mathematics from the University of Illinois.

    What:    Agile Processes People and Methods 

             In this presentation, Rawsthorne will explain how a Scrum team
             is driven by its product owner, who is responsible for
             maximizing the value of what the team builds.  The understanding
             of the nature of the product owner has changed over the years
             and has morphed from being the lead stakeholder to a full-
             fledged member of the team.  In this interactive discussion,
             Rawsthorne will explore the modern approach of looking at the
             product owner, both as a person and as a role.  As a person, the
             product owner is the team member who is accountable to
             management for the success of the team.  As a role, the product
             owner has more responsibilities than a single person can
             typically handle, including: stakeholder management, release
             planning, driving the team at a sustainable pace, and accepting
             and releasing the team's product.  In this session, Rawsthorne
             will describe the challenges faced by the product owner and the
             team.
