The McGraw-Hill Companies Selected as One of the Top 50 Corporations for Hispanics by PODER Enterprise Magazine

NEW YORK, March 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP) has been named one of the Top 50 Corporations for Hispanics by PODER Enterprise magazine, written for U.S. Hispanic business leaders and political decision-makers. The Corporation was recognized for its diversity and broad engagement with the Hispanic community, as well as for the Hispanic representation on its Board of Directors and in key business management roles, its network of Spanish-language television stations and its internal organization dedicated to the professional development and advancement of Hispanic employees.

"As U.S. demographics shift and competition increases worldwide, it is critical that we maintain a diverse employee base to effectively understand, develop and market products that meet the unique needs of our growing global customer base," said Harold McGraw III, chairman, president and CEO of The McGraw-Hill Companies. "Our Board and senior leadership remain committed to promoting an environment where inclusion is encouraged, and the diverse perspectives of all of our employees are valued."

Editors at PODER Enterprise highlighted the two Hispanic members of the Corporation's Board, Pedro Aspe and Hilda Ochoa-Brillembourg, and the Hispanics serving in high-level positions across the company as a reason for being selected.

The magazine also noted the Corporation's commitment to serve the growing Hispanic market in California and Colorado through its Spanish-language television stations affiliated with Azteca America in Denver, Colorado Springs, San Diego and Bakersfield, CA.

The Corporation's Hispanic Heritage Network (HHN) is one of the company's five grass-roots-driven employee resource groups, which enable employees to connect and discuss a shared set of interests, experiences and perspectives. HHN is dedicated to advancing the careers of Hispanic employees through the utilization of networking, community outreach programs and advocacy aimed at nurturing and promoting the leadership skills of its members. HHN reaches approximately 800 of the company's employees.

The McGraw-Hill Companies also supports a wide range of Hispanic organizations and educational programs, including the National Hispanic Corporate Achievers and the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement, which the magazine pointed out.
