Humana Releases Stay Smart, Stay Healthy Videos in Spanish
LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Humana (NYSE: HUM) has
recently released three of its Stay Smart, Stay Healthy educational videos in
Spanish.
The Stay Smart, Stay Healthy videos have racked up more than 1.1 million
hits on YouTube to date. They were launched on November 5, 2008, and remained
in the Top 5 videos in education worldwide through December. The videos
explain complex health care topics in a fun and simple format.
"We developed the Stay Smart, Stay Healthy videos based on common consumer
health care questions and made them available for anyone to view on the Web,"
said Ed Batchelor, Humana's corporate director of Web and new media. "We are
pleased that they have been well received and plan to expand our collection of
videos based on consumers' need for health care guidance."
The videos are posted on YouTube and linked from social media sites like
Facebook and MySpace, just like their English counterparts. The videos are
also available at www.staysmartstayhealthy.com. The Spanish video titles
include:
-- Why is health care so expensive?
-- How does health insurance work?
-- Why do some drugs cost more than others?
The release of the videos in Spanish is a continuation of Humana's
"Nuestra Salud Humana," or "our health Humana" initiative in which Humana
expanded its Spanish resources, including its Spanish language Web site,
www.humana.com/nuestra_salud. This further demonstrates Humana's commitment to
better serving Hispanic consumers.
"Research shows that the Internet is an important media for connecting
with Spanish-language consumers," said Ed Batchelor. "We had always intended
to make the videos available in Spanish."
