Career College Association Awards E-Transcript Initiative to Docufide, Inc.
WASHINGTON, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Career College Association (CCA), a voluntary membership organization of accredited, private, postsecondary institutes, announced today it has selected and awarded a 3-year contract to Docufide, Inc. to provide electronic transcript delivery services across their entire member base. These new transcript services will affect CCA's 1,400 plus member schools and their nearly two million students each year for employment in over 200 occupational fields.
"The lack of automation of the transfer of academic records from high school to postsecondary school as well as postsecondary school to postsecondary school (and beyond), and the intrinsic value this electronic interchange provides, were the major driving factors for the Committee to pursue a member-wide e-Transcript Initiative," stated Jamie Turner, CCA's Technology Committee Chair. "The Committee anticipates that the selection of Docufide and the rollout of services to member institutions will: save high school guidance counselors' time processing transcript requests, thus freeing them to devote more attention to students' needs; save postsecondary registrar offices time in processing transcript requests -- receiving and sending; and establish consistency in transfer submission, resulting in a decreased number of students who have the potential to 'fall through the cracks' due to lost or incomplete transcripts or administrative error. All this while substantially reducing the paper processing cost and time to admissions approval made Docufide the clear choice."
"CCA is constantly focused on finding and providing best practices for use with the career college sector. Docufide is very proud to have been identified for its innovative solutions and is looking forward to partnering with CCA to introduce our services to its member colleges. The ability to efficiently and securely process student records electronically will be a boon for members and their students," said John Reese, Docufide's CEO.
In 2008, CCA formed a Technology Committee to advance the technology interests of CCA members, especially in automating how students are recruited, assessed, enrolled and supported from first interest through graduation and beyond. A key goal of the Committee was to evaluate all major national e-transcript service providers, selecting the best suited to facilitate the electronic receipt and delivery of student information across their membership.
The formal bid request, released in late August of last year, required services to be available to any high school and college nationwide with the capacity to securely deliver transcripts to any destination within higher education and beyond (scholarships, employers, etc.). Docufide was awarded the contract based on its years of experience, depth and breadth of secondary and postsecondary references, and proven capability to deliver on the required and preferred services sought through CCA's RFP.
"CCA understands that transcript automation among schools at all levels and locations is an important value-add that our members could benefit from enormously," said CCA President and CEO Harris N. Miller. "We are excited to be partnering with Docufide and believe this new service will improve the lives of career college students as well as improve the speed and efficiency of the business of education."
