Scalado Optimizes New Imaging Solution for Windows Mobile(R) 6.5 Operating System on the Texas Instruments OMAP(TM) 3 Platform

LUND, Sweden, February 17 /PRNewswire/ --

- New Technology Will Enable Accelerated Imaging Capabilities for Improved User Experiences

Scalado, the leader in mobile imaging software solutions, today announced that its image technology has been optimized for the Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) OMAP(TM) 3 processor-based products - such as mobile phones - running on the Windows Mobile(R) 6.5 platform. By working closely with TI, Scalado has adapted its powerful imaging technology to provide mobile phone users with an exceptional range of imaging capabilities, including: image management, browsing, zooming, panning and handling.

Since the introduction of the Zero Shutter Lag technology last year, Scalado and TI have been working closely to optimize Scalado's CAPS(TM) SDK and related modules for TI's OMAP 3 platform, an approach that has been greatly welcomed by many of Scalado's customers in the mobile phone market. The integrated imaging technology will be exhibited on the newly-announced Zoom OMAP34x-II mobile development platform in TI's booth (Booth 8A84, Hall 8) during the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, 16-19 February 2009.

This latest collaboration is one component of Scalado's overall platform strategy, demonstrating the company's commitment to grow both its market presence and 'stickiness' in the mobile imaging market. SpeedView and other Scalado imaging technologies are already included in more than 300 million mobile devices from the top six handset manufacturers, with growing interest from other markets as well.

"Our work with TI is further proof that Scalado has earned its reputation as one of the leading players in the mobile imaging space," said Fadi Abbas, Co-Founder and VP Business Development and Partnerships at Scalado. "Customers of both TI and Scalado are increasingly aware of the benefits made possible when imaging software and hardware are optimized for best performance. As a result, both of our companies are completely dedicated to pursuing further cooperation in this area."

"We are delighted to continue to enhance mobile imaging capabilities on our OMAP platform through our innovative work with Scalado," said Guy Harris, worldwide ecosystem manager, TI. "The combination of TI's OMAP platform with Scalado's super-fast imaging technology will significantly improve the camera user's experience for users of the new Windows Mobile 6.5, and for millions of others as well."
