Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta Announces New Advisory Council Members and Chairman
 
Cooke, Grayson, and Rasberry to Join Council; Vaughan elected Chairman

ATLANTA, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta (FHLBank Atlanta) announced today that it has appointed three new members and elected a new chairman to its Affordable Housing Advisory Council. Council members will serve three-year terms that began Jan. 1, 2009.

New members:

Robert B. Cooke currently serves as executive director of Southwest Georgia United Empowerment Zone, Inc. a Community Development Financial Institution serving rural Southwest Georgia. Cooke has worked in housing and community development for more than 20 years. He founded the Cordele YouthBuild program, Communities Empowering People Together, Inc., and helped found the Rural Community Improvement Corporation, Inc. He holds an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Cooke has completed the CPA examination and holds a certification in Tax Credit Project Management.

Chickie Grayson currently serves as president and chief executive officer of Enterprise Homes, Inc. Grayson has been with Enterprise since 1987, where she has achieved most of her more than 25 years of experience in mixed-income housing development. In 2007, she received the Home Ownership Participation for Everyone (HOPE) Leadership award, honoring her commitment to providing homeownership opportunities for minorities. She currently serves on the boards of Parks and People Foundation, the Home Builders Association of Maryland, and Archbishop Curley High School. Grayson holds a bachelor's degree and master's degree in urban affairs from the University of Maryland.

Brigette E. Rasberry currently serves as vice president and chief operating officer of the North Carolina Association of Community Development Corporations (NCACDC). At NCACDC, Rasberry is responsible for helping to set the direction of the organization. She has more than 12 years of community economic development experience. In 2008, she was elected to the Board of Directors for the National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations (NACEDA). Rasberry holds a bachelor's degree in organizational management from St. Augustine's College in Raleigh, NC.

2009 Chairman:

Leonard S. Vaughan is a principal with Shea Development Group, LLC. Vaughan was formerly the director of the Howard County Department of Housing and Community Development in Columbia, Maryland. His previous experience includes work with the Housing Authority of Baltimore City, the Housing Assistance Council in Washington, D.C., and the National Housing Partnership. Vaughan serves on the boards of numerous local, state and national organizations.
