HITEC Releases Nation's First List of Top Hispanic IT Executives
HITEC 100 highlights the nation's top Hispanic executives and rising stars in information technology
DETROIT, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Today officials from HITEC (the Hispanic
IT Executive Council) unveiled its first annual HITEC 100 list which
recognizes the nation's top Hispanic executives and rising stars within
information technology in the previous year. This year's 100 were selected
out of more than 300 nominations by an independent four-member panel of
judges.
The 2009 HITEC 100 were selected based on a criteria that evaluated their
individual achievements in the industry, professional level, scope of
responsibility, position held in their companies, as well as their involvement
in boards and diversity initiatives.
This groundbreaking list is the first and most comprehensive list of
successful and visionary Hispanic information technology leaders in the United
States.
"We are extremely proud of this historic listing of the HITEC 100 which
highlights the leadership and many accomplishments of 100 truly great leaders
in the global IT Industry," said J. Alberto Yepez, HITEC chairman. "The HITEC
100 not only highlights these individuals as phenomenal leaders, but also
their influential business, community, and public policy relationships within
the $1 Trillion US domestic Hispanic market and multi-trillion dollar
economies across the Americas."
"In their respective roles, they create tremendous value for their
organizations and add an unprecedented global perspective to their executive
leadership teams and boards in these ever changing economic times," Yepez
added.
HITEC (Hispanic IT Executive Council) was founded by senior Hispanic IT
executives who have built outstanding careers in information technology but
realized that there were far too few Hispanics in the IT leadership role. With
a strong desire and passion to make an impact within the Hispanic IT community
by helping others reach the highest levels, HITEC was formed in late 2006.
These national leaders include executives leading Fortune 500 corporations on
both U.S. and global initiatives while others lead some of the largest
Hispanic owned IT firms in the United States.
